On Friday, SC to one side to the BCCI’s disciplinary committee had asked to reconsider the life ban imposed on cricketer S Sreesanth for his participation in the 2013 IPL impropriety against the cricket standards.
He was caught spot-fixing later in a few matches played at that time. His alleged involvement in the same with a few others had put a life ban on him by BCCI.
A bench comprising of 2 justices said to the disciplinary committee of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) that you may rethink the life ban imposed on the cricketer within 3 months against the time of punishment that has given to Sreesanth.
The bench also made it clear he will get a privilege of being heard by BCCI against the allowed time of the punishment.
It has been also said this shall not have an effect on the present criminal case(s) pending against him in HC, Delhi, where the Delhi Police have challenged the order for releasing the all accused, including Sreesanth, in the IPL spot-fixing case.
A plea has been challenged by Sreesanth against the decision by the Kerala High Court for restoring the life ban imposed on him by BCCI. Hence, the SC bench has passed this order on his plea.
