It is often said that a mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you. A mentor is someone who allows you to see hope inside you. All of us must have come across several individuals that have essayed the role of a mentor in our lives, and whether we accept it or not, we do owe nothing but gratitude to such individuals for transforming our lives in some way or the other. Recently, the new winner of Rubaru Mr. India championship, Sangarsh Verenkar took to social media (Instagram: @sangarsh_shetverenkar) while extending his gratitude to his mentor, Abrar Naik for helping him in his journey to the coveted title of Rubaru Mr. India Universal 2020-21.
While reminiscing his pageant days, the Goa-based gentleman shared a picture of him with Abrar Naik quoting, “The man behind my success; the man who showed me what modelling is; the man who taught me how to walk down the ramp; the man who showed me the path to success – Thank you for believing in me.” While replying to the statement, Abrar mentioned, “You deserved the title. Always be down to earth and always work hard. I want you to win the international title as well. Proud of you.”
Abrar Naik is the founder of AB Production Goa – the parent organization of Mr. Goa and Miss Goa competitions. He is a former Rubaru Mr. India finalist and is currently managing the Goa state segment of Rubaru Mr. India organization along with his friends – Anokh Bhat, Arhana Feroz, Sandesh Singh and Sonu Kumar. In 2019, Sangarsh Verenkar participated at Mr. Goa competition and was placed amongst the Top 10 finalists. It was Sangarsh’s first steps in his journey to the title of Mr. India. In this journey, he was accompanied by Abrar and his team that enlightened his path. It was April 8, 2021, when Sangarsh was elected the new Rubaru Mr. India at the grand finale of championship held in Morjim. As part of his winning package, Sangarsh Verenkar will represent India at an international men’s championship, based in Portugal, to take place next year (2022).
