“Not all superheroes wear capes. We are so proud of you,” says Pankaj Kharbanda while praising model-turned-doctor, Gaurav Sharma’s decision to put a pause on his modelling career and returning to his medical practice after winning Rubaru Mr. North India title, earlier this year.
India is witnessing the second wave of COVID-19, amid such harsh times, doctors and medical practitioners have become the angels and superheroes for the world. One such superhero won several hearts with his very charming smile and dashing looks, when he walked down the runway at India’s biggest male pageant – Rubaru Mr. India. Dr. Gaurav Sharma’s victory turned out to be a much anticipated event as he was already a crowd favorite candidate for the title. However, the Haryana-based doctor chose not to celebrate his victory mentioning, “It is time to resume my duties with immediate effect. My country needs me. Every second is important in such hard times. It is not the time for me to sit back and celebrate my victory at the pageant. My services are much needed in the hospital and I will not rest until we welcome a better tomorrow. It is my paramount duty as a doctor to treat my patients and I will continue to do so. When my nation is suffering so much how can I celebrate my victory. My modelling assignments can wait, but not my patients. I will continue to perform my duties as a doctor and let us all pray and hope that we all come out victorious.”
Often cited as the most handsome doctor in India, Gaurav Sharma began his journey as a model while he was pursuing his degree in MBBS. After qualifying as a medical practitioner, he chose to work as a full time doctor and continued modelling as a part time profession. Due to the current situation of the nation, he diverted his complete attention to his medical practice while putting hold on his modelling career.
His dedication and selfless love to serve humanity was very well received by the Rubaru Mr. India organization, the VP, Pankaj Kharbanda mentioned, “The doors of the Rubaru Mr. India organization will always remain open for Dr. Gaurav Sharma. He can come back whenever he wants. Our hero will always have a special respect in our hearts and we will always remain grateful to him for all his deeds. We are all so proud to have him as a part of the Rubaru family.”
