Messi’s hat-trick goal eases Barcelona to win 25th La Liga title

FC Barcelona (Futbol Club Barcelona) won over Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña by two goals and led the scoreboard with 4-2. Philippe Coutinho and Lionel Messi are amongst the goalscorers to secure a 7th La Liga title to Barcelona’s hands in 10 years.

Lionel Messi hat-trick goal has helped Barcelona to secure the 25th La Liga title yesterday after triumphing 4-2 win over Deportivo La Coruna even after a 2-goal lead in a breathtaking game that confirmed RC Depor’s relegation. Atletico Madrid toughened their hold on the second place by triumphing 1-0 from Kevin Gameiro’s penalty goal. However, Valencia Club de Fútbol journey to get into the Champions League qualification dropped after they were held to a 0-goal draw at home against SD Eibar.

Barcelona’s first goal was brought by Philippe Coutinho with a chip shot. And then Messi’s 1-goal lead came across that made the score to 2-0, which was also with the help of Luis Suarez, who has crossed the ball to Messi’s end to lead. However, Deportivo de La Coruña hit back with two goals that had levelled the score to 2-2 at before halftime and 68th minute.

The levelled score had downhearted the spectators for some time until a third goal by the top scorer Messi by counter-attacking restored their lead, shooting at the nearer end of the goal post in the 82nd minute following a teed up by Suarez.

Messi scored his 32nd league goal to creating a winning moment for Barca with a seventh La Liga title in 10 years by getting another pass from Suarez.

“We have won it with a big boundary and stood the best in the league,” Barca coach Ernesto Valverde told reporters.

“Winning seven league titles out of 10 is fantastic. We have had almost perfect Liga campaign this year,” he added.
