In this exclusive interview, Evneet Kaur Juneja a.k.a Sania Juneja spoke about her journey to the coveted title of Miss Globe India 2019 and her preparations for the international finale of the Miss Globe 2019 pageant to take place in Montenegro.
Q. First of all, many congratulations for winning the Rubaru Miss Globe India 2019 title. How do you feel about it?
Evneet: Thank you so much for these lovely wishes. It does feel great. My life has changed a lot after winning this prestigious title. I feel blessed and honoured that I won the pageant. I truly believe destiny has something planned for everyone. I haven’t experienced so much love and affection earlier; it is indeed a wonderful feeling. I would also like to extended my greatest gratitude to the entire Rubaru Group team who believed in me and saw the potential in me that I would be able to do full justice to this title and the responsibilities that would come with it and I would also like to thank all the people who supported me this beautiful journey to the scintillating crown of Rubaru Miss Globe India 2019. I believe words are not enough to describe my feeling and emotions and how thrilled and happy I feel about winning the Rubaru Miss India Elite 2019 beauty pageant.
Q. What was your reaction when your name was announced at the grand finale of the pageant held in New Delhi?
Evneet: When I entered the pageant, the one thing that I had in mind even before I came to New Delhi was I had to give my best, no matter how hard the circumstances get. I knew from the beginning that it was not going to be easy, as I was competing against 29 other equally talented and hardworking candidates from different parts on India. Winning or not winning comes afterwards, initially how you portray yourself that matters a lot as the final judgement would be made taking under consideration the journey that you cover from the day the pageant begins. So, I tried to give my best in all the segments of the pageant and when I heard my name at the pageant’s finale, I felt like all my hard work did pay off. I was so happy that I won and when I look back at that time, I still get Goosebumps. It was the moment my life changed and it was also the moment that a new chapter began in my life.
Q. What was the most challenging part / phase during the Rubaru Miss India Elite 2019 pageant?
Evneet: The most challenging part was to remain confident, faithful and optimistic. As when I used to walk up to the rehearsals or other pre-finale activities of the pageant, I used to look at 29 other beautiful and equally deserving girls vying for the crown and that is the hardest part to not let your confidence down as unless, I would have faith in me, how would I make others believe in me. It’s not about becoming better than others; for me it was always about becoming a better version of the person I was yesterday. I did not win because, I was better than others rather I won because at that time, I was at my best.
Q. What was memorable moment for you from Rubaru Miss India Elite 2019 beauty pageant?
Evneet: It is indeed hard to pick one as the journey to the crown was so beautiful in itself and it comprised several very beautiful and memorable moments, I am not sure which one moment to mention. The moment my name was announced as the winner of Rubaru Miss Globe India 2019 was indeed one of those moments as it was the moment where one very wonderful journey reached its destination and from that very point another even more beautiful and exciting journey began. Other than that, the moment I get to meet other 29 candidates of the pageant; getting to know about their cultures and experiences and sharing my experiences with them. Then there were our rehearsals for the pageant and sessions with grooming experts that I enjoyed a lot; these different phases of the pageant were so beautiful and memorable that my entire journey, I would say was the most memorable part.
Q. Soon, you will represent India at one of the oldest running international beauty pageants in the world, the Miss Globe 2019 beauty pageant in Albania. How do you feel about that?
Evneet: I feel truly blessed and honoured that I have been bestowed with the golden opportunity to represent India at the prestigious Miss Globe beauty pageant. It is one of the biggest and oldest running international pageants in the world and representing India at such a colossal platform is indeed a matter of huge pride and honour for me. I am really looking forward to deliver my best and make my nation and all my supporters proud. I am also eagerly looking forward to meet all the candidates of the Miss Globe 2019 competition and getting know about their cultures and lives; other than this, I would also love to meet the people of Albania and Montenegro, two of the richly cultured and beautiful countries in the world and have a great time there.
Q. How are the preparations going on for the international pageant to take place in Albania?
Evneet: The preparations are going on in full swing. My trainer and guide, Meenakshi Mathur, the founder and owner of Star Steps India Academy, has been constantly helping me in this. She is the woman who trained me for Rubaru Miss India Elite 2019 pageant and she is now helping me to prepare for the Miss Globe 2019 pageant. Ever since I won the crown, I have doubled my efforts and I am trying to cover all the possible areas to improve myself. I am working on my walk, my presentation, my communication skills and fitness. Just a beautiful face is not enough to make your presence felt; you need to be much more than that. I have been working on my runway skills, my posture and how to face the camera, presentation is also a crucial part of a beauty pageant. Apart from that, I am also polishing my speaking skills and diction so that I could deliver my best. When you go for an international beauty pageant, it does not get confined to yourself or the organization or the national beauty pageant you won rather you go there as a representative of your nation. It is indeed a very big responsibility and I want to give my best.
Q. As a kid back in school, did you ever imagine that one day you would win a national level beauty pageant and would go on to represent India internationally?
Evneet: Yes, winning a beauty pageant had always been one of my biggest dreams and it finally came true this year. As a kid back in school, I used to get fascinated reading about people making our nation proud in different sectors like science, medicine, cinema, entertainment or arts. It was then this thing struck my mind that one day, I would also go ahead and make my county proud as a few very individuals get this golden opportunity. And it has all come down to this very year, when I would go to a place where no one would call me by my name rather I would be addressed as “India” and I could not have asked for anything more. This year, a dream that I had as a kid turned into a beautiful reality and I feel so happy about it.
Q. Who or what has been your biggest support in life?
Evneet: My parents. They are the biggest support system in my life. They have always supported and guided me in every difficult situation. They taught me to be optimistic in the darkest of times and to be strong in the toughest situations. Whatever and whoever I am today is all because of my parents. My father has a very strong and stern personality whereas my mother is a very emotional and soft-hearted woman. I have inherited both of their qualities and consider myself very lucky that I have such an amazing father and such a wonderful mother. You would have read many times girls / boys saying that they have the best parents in the world; well in my case, I can firmly say that I have the best of the best parents in the world.
Q. Who is your inspiration or role model?
Evneet: Well, my mother has always been my biggest inspiration. The woman that I am today is all because of this very wonderful woman who stood by me in every situation. Apart from her the person, I really look up to would be Mother Teresa. All the work she did for the people across the world cannot be appreciated merely in words as we might never find appropriate words for all the amazing work she did. She showed the world what humanity really meant. She was the quintessential strong and independent woman who gave so much back to the society and to the world that the world would always remain grateful to her. Mother Teresa has been my inspiration since I was kid. She showed the world what benevolence, generosity and kindness really meant. Her contribution to the mankind would always remain priceless and indeed very inspirational.
Q. Lastly, any message for your supporters and well-wishers.
Evneet: Firstly, I would like to thank each and every person who read this interview. Thank you so much guys for always supporting me and making me realise that I was never alone in this journey. It is because of your support that I made it this far. Keep supporting me and I shall never let you down. Thank you so much.
We wish Evneet Kaur Juneja all the very best for the international finale of the Miss Globe 2019 beauty pageant. May you bring more joy and more pride to India.
