“Even a simple gesture of kindness can create a huge difference in someone else’s life,” says Meenakshi Mathur, while requesting people to help others and adhering to the recommended measures in the fight against the novel Coronavirus. The former Indian beauty queen, entrepreneur, philanthropist, social activist and pageant trainer also urged people to be compassionate and empathize with people who have lost their livelihood, to eradicate the ill feelings towards any sect or group and unanimously work towards saving the mankind. She has registered herself as a volunteer and urges others to get registered on the government website according to the skills they master.

According to her, being a beauty queen is not just about acquiring the world as your stage and making the heads turn, rather, it brings with it the responsibility, credibility and oppurtunity to be the voice of the masses, to generate the attention towards the cause in need. In these testing times we need to cultivate harmony and extend a helping hand to the needful.

She mentioned,  “Everyone is going through harsh times in some way or the other. As responsible individuals of the society, it is our duty to help those in need so that the world still can be a better place in such tough times. I understand helping someone might not change the entire world but it would surely change the world for that very person who would receive support and assistance. There are a number of ways in which we can support others, be it in terms of monetary assistance or educating others regarding this virus and the ways to prevent or contain its spread. For a better tomorrow, we must cooperate today.”

This Madhya Pradesh-based Indian beauty pageant winner holds a master’s degree in Microbiology and has won several awards and is the founder of Madhya Pradesh’s very first pageant and model training academy – The Star Steps (www.starsteps.in). She is also regarded as one of the most eloquent personalities in the Indian pageant industry. Her contributions to the Indian pageantry has been awarded at various fashion and social events.
